As a special agent with United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration I have completed high-quality investigations and inspections in a timely manner, and in accordance with current agency policies and procedures, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and the laws of the United States. Through applying proper investigative methods I determine the type of investigation/inspections needed to perform and work in conjunction with industry, state local and federal partners to ensure safety for the public. Prioritize assignments based on agency policy and maximize efficiency. Leads and assists with investigations on high-profile/complex operations. This can include commercial motor vehicle crash investigations, motor coach operations, hazardous materials safety violations, revocation of operating authority or imminent hazard investigations, and investigations of carriers operating while out of service or without authority.

As a State and Federal Department of Transportation Compliance Officer, I apply investigative and auditing techniques in interviewing drivers for proper completion of logbooks and pre/post trip inspection of their vehicles. I communicate with a variety of companies to determine route activity, dispatch times, and safety records presented by the drivers. Job duties also include researching DOT/FMCSA regulations to ensure the proper enforcement of violations. Other duties include conducting commercial vehicle accident investigations, impounding non-compliant vehicles, and preparing physical evidence for court. I work daily to support both regional and state federal goals of making highways safer.

Escorted and protected convoys of commercial motor vehicles during combat convoy security mission on the Main Supply route patrols over Iraq’s most dangerous roads. Duties consisted of mounted and dismounted patrols to provide area security. Responded and provided support in crisis situations when military Humvee in my convoy encountered a Vehicle Born Improvised Exploding Device (VBIED) in March 2005.Served as a Corrections officer at Abu Ghraib Theater Internment Facility. Duties included processing detainees, care and custody of detainees in the Special Housing Unit, which housed the worst disciplinary segregation detainees.
