The Utilization Review department carries with it the responsibility of managing those aspects of a patient stay that relates to the initial, concurrent and discharge interface with health plans. This role is in frequent contact with health plans providing clinical information developed from the treatment team and staff working with the patient and family. This job is one of detail and accuracy in a very fast pace of short term psychiatric hospitalization. Coordinating with the KVC Admissions Department, Physicians, Nurses and Therapists to ensure timely, accurate and complete assessments are performed on children and youth, and making appropriate referrals for placement and services based on the assessment. Review medical records of patients who are under treatment for emotional or mental illness to ensure proper utilization of treatment resources; review patient records for proper case documentation, and medical necessity of treatment in relation to federal, state and county regulations; assess continuing treatment plans; advocate for required patient treatment with medical providers.

Alphabet and number recognization, fine & gross motor skills, potty training, hygine, safety and social skills. I also helped with front desk duties of opening/closing the center, before/after school pick up of school age kids as well as field trip and summer activity planning.

When those kids were at school I helped the rest of the building with scheduling and curriculum planning/implementation, as well as cooking or preparing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
