About Whitney Maxwell

Former Graphic Designer > Respiratory Therapist > Emergency Manager! I’m grateful everyday for the opportunities Vail Health has given me to learn and grow in my professional role. Recently, Vail Health promoted me to be their Safety & Emergency Preparedness Manager. In April of 2023, I was promoted from my educator role in Respiratory Therapy to Safety Coordinator for Vail Health. I valued the opportunity to build on my clinical experience and continue to help keep patients and staff safe in the hospital environment.I am choosing to maintain my respiratory certifications and licensure while working full-time as Safety and Emergency Preparedness Manager for Vail Health. I am a Respiratory Therapist at CommonSpirit St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Frisco, Colorado and work PRN. During my time as a Respiratory Therapist for Vail Health, I was promoted to the role of Clinical Educator of Respiratory Therapy. It was a newly created role, and I was successful in navigating and creating what the future of a Clinical Educator of Respiratory Therapy would look like. I was proud of the progress I made in that role in a short amount of time. In early 2019, I was recruited to work for Vail Health as a RRT from my profile on LinkedIn! What an awesome opportunity, and I’m grateful for this platform! Prior to moving to Colorado, I practiced as an Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist at Bryan Health in Lincoln, Nebraska in their Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I was also a member of Bryan Health's Neonatal Transport Team. I also have experience working in a level 1 trauma facility prior to my NICU experience. I have certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E.I stay active year-round with my other passions including scuba diving, snowboarding, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, camping, supporting live music, and playing with my dog!
