Clever is a Series B real estate tech company on a mission to provide trustworthy advice and solutions throughout the real estate journey. Since joining as a Senior Recruiter and being promoted to Director of People in December 2022, I’ve built the recruiting function from the ground up, hired 60% of our team, and led initiatives that improved DEI, compliance, and performance management. My work includes launching company-wide reviews, establishing KPIs, and boosting our Glassdoor presence with positive feedback, all contributing to hitting 100% of our hiring goals in Q1/Q2 2024.

Hired and managed a team of three recruiters, led executive searches, and supported compliance across 25+ states. I also spearheaded initiatives like enhancing our paternity leave policy, establishing annual performance reviews, and partnering with the executive team on a RIF to reduce costs and restructure the team.

Hired during Series B funding to establish Clever's first internal recruiting team, I implemented an Applicant Tracking System, transitioning workflows from HubSpot to Breezy, and led efforts in Q4 2021 and Q2 2022 that resulted in 20 key hires across Content, Marketing, and Product teams. I also standardized hiring processes, onboarded three new recruiters, and partnered with the CEO and VP of Marketing to hire Clever's first VP of Content. My initiatives included launching a new department, improving Glassdoor reviews, researching paternity leave enhancements, and supporting the redesign of Clever's career page.

I managed client relationships, full-cycle recruiting, and candidate placements for over 50 unique clients, resulting in approximately 75 leadership placements. I oversaw weekly client meetings, invoicing, and key metrics like cost per hire and time to fill, while recruiting, hiring, and mentoring team members. By leveraging client referrals, I generated 15+ new business opportunities and exceeded placement fee goals by 34% and yearly GM goals by 51% in 2019. My achievements were recognized with the FireSteed Award for the highest closing revenue in company history and the Raving Fan Award for top client and candidate feedback.

I managed a 270-member gym, achieving an average of 13.58 new members per month—20% higher than the Birmingham average—along with a 74% close rate on consults. My focus on excellent customer service, including personalized communication, resulted in a low attrition rate of 3.8%. From July 2016 to April 2017, I generated $195,827.80 in new client revenue. I also directly managed four full-time coaches, onboarded two new coaches, and oversaw gym-based challenges and competitions with strong participant engagement.

I oversaw the event approval process for over 6,000 events across 12 offices, supporting 48+ staff members. I provided ongoing guidance to officers and advisors from 500+ student organizations on registration, budgets, and policies. I also chaired the Student Committee for the Presidents’ Roundtable, a networking event for 100+ student organization presidents, and coordinated the ASCEND Leadership Program, developing 14 rising leaders and fostering collaboration among student leaders.
