My professional goals range from me wanting to become an entertainment lawyer to a humble and well-traveled writer whose thought provoking words do not fall upon deaf ears. I have wanted to practice law for as long as I have wanted to write because both careers would allow me to become the best opposites of myself. As an entertainment lawyer I would be representing people who partake in a craft I have deep admiration for and curiosity unbound by a need to perform my job exceptionally well. As a lawyer my clients will heed my council because I have earned my place in a position of power through hard work as a student. The title of lawyer carries a preconceived notion that one is of elite intelligence. However, that is the second most enticing element as to why I lean toward such a career. Most importantly I will be responsible for the best interest of those who have sought my aid. Being a lawyer will beckon the warrior in me that I always felt on the precipice of exposure. In juxtaposition to practicing law my most primordial desire is to be a writer. A good writer speaks to one’s humanity, while also finding ways to articulate the darkest corners of thought. The type of writing I believe constitutes “good” epitomizes sensitivity in its attempt to be objectively conscious. Writing would not require me to sometimes act against my own reason in lieu of monetary gains like a career in the legal profession could. If I were given the opportunity of employment in a field that caters to the person I aim to become it would help guide me in the direction of the most beneficial career choice, which I would pursue with vigor and passion.
