Knitronics started as a private blog for me to chronicle how I completed projects and refer to in the future if needed. This naturally evolved into detailed tutorial posts specifically in the FPGA field as I found the gritty detail of working with FPGA IDEs weren't always documented in a novice-friendly way. It is also a way for me to connect with other like-minded engineers and makers.

I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with anyone that shares my same interests in electronics and computing. As a side job to my main career, I enjoy writing blog posts detailing my home hobby projects to share with the Hackster.io community.

goTenna’s mission is to provide users with edge to edge connectivity with decentralized mesh networking. My role is that of is developing and designing the next generation product to give users better range and wider bandwidth to send photos along with text over this mesh network the goTenna radios are creating in the absence of any sort of external network such as wi-fi or cellular. In order to achieve this and make the product upgradable in the field, I chose a software defined radio topology based on an FPGA architecture.

I have spent my time at Honeywell in the Test Engineering department where my overall responsibility is to analyze a product brought to me by a customer and create an automated test system to verify the product’s hardware and software functionality. This test system is used throughout the entire production life-cycle of the product and must have a design that is robust enough to pass strict quality controls and be run several times daily without failures. I worked the design of the test system from the initial ground-up hardware design, through the automation control software. This experience allowed for me to pick up and sharpen a wide range of skills including analog circuit design, PCB layout, RF circuit design, FPGA/embedded design, automated control software, test equipment calibration standards and processes, and documentation processes. I also spent time over the years on research development to further the plant’s FPGA/embedded technology and various versions of software defined radios contained fully on an FPGA platform.

Adjunct instructor to the professor I worked with for my Master's degree. I taught Applied Engineering Analysis II which is a calculus III course tailored to focus on the concepts specific to electrical engineering.

Intern to test engineers and design engineers. Learning testing and design processes working on life support systems and beverage maker products for major airlines.

- Setting up and implementing network and needed security to broadcast live video stream using Wirecast software- Implementing multiple camera setup through Wirecast software- Cutting between live camera shots and any other media (ie PowerPoints, slideshows, etc.) as requested by customer during event

My role as a Family Room Specialist includes troubleshooting and servicing both the hardware and software of Apple's mobile devices running iOS software. Troubleshooting is done within a 10 minute appointment timeframe with the customer present to describe technical issues with the device, requiring effective communication skills, people skills, time management skills, and the ability to diffuse flustered customers. My role also includes that of being a trainer as well as a technician. As a trainer, I teach customers how to use Apple mobile devices and computers running either iOS or OS X software, in the ways that best suit their individual needs. This training is done either in one on one sessions or in a group workshop setting, both requiring public speaking skills and the ability to invent numerous unique solutions for many customers.

Intern on development of interactive websites for university testing, developing mobile applications for companies and clients, and building basic websites.

The tasks I performed at this job included working a fitting room to keep it clean and keeping my respective department straightened. I also worked as a cashier and received certification in bra measurement and fitting. This position also provided me experience in visual merchandising and loss prevention.

This position was one that my time was spent out in the field on numerous job sites assisting an electrical contractor in projects such as building new houses, major business and home renovations, the building of commercial retail stores, and generator installations. An annual project included the construction of temporary electrical outlets and breaker boxes for a yearly carnival.
