In my current role, I oversee 3 critical areas of engagement for Metro Transit:1) Community - public involvement, engagement and outreach - "The Customer Experience"2) Team - team member participation, internal culture and communication3) Insights - research and feedback that drives improvement internally and externallyHere’s the steak and potatoes of my day-to-day: - Laying out a strategy for engaging our customers from the bottom up, in every aspect of our service - Peeling back the layers of our ridership and non-ridership communities to uncover and leverage their needs, habits and influences - Utilizing public involvement practices to influence planning and execution of key rider initiatives - Developing messaging and branded material that highlight our newest technological and cultural improvements and programs- Advocating for public transit, ALWAYS!

FUN FACT: I revamped a retired MetroBus into a rolling engagement and demonstration bus for our fare collection system by throwing out the seats and retrofitting it with cabinetry, flatscreens, iPads and equipment simulators. We print personalized cards and register new cardholders, then turn around and demonstrate how their card works on MetroLink and MetroBus. The ULTIMATE customer engagement experience.

I worked as a consultant to MoDOT on the New I-64 Project, communicating with the public and media on the progress of construction, traffic impacts, etc... I improved my graphic design skills with the production of many handouts, flyers and brochures. I also made sure the website was up-to-date and coordinated all of the Association's special events, as well as prepared for the many classes the Association provides to people interested in obtaining or renewing their Real Estate License.Tags: Public Relations, Event Planning

I acted as a community liaison and spokesperson for the Cross County MetroLink Extension by performing many different functions. I designed and wrote newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, status reports and other communication materials. I also responded to citizens' questions and concerns via telephone and email, wrote press releases and media advisories and maintained the project website. The best part about this position was actually the end - when I helped plan and coordinate the Grand Opening activities for the Cross County MetroLink Extension. I worked as a Promotions Intern at Fox 2 during my last semester of college. During my short time there, I learned a lot about the media that would prove essential to my future positions. The most exciting project I had was producing a televised Public Service Announcement for "Rock, Roll 'n Stroll," an event that benefited muscular dystrophy patients. The spot ran on Channel 2 for about a month. Aside from that, my daily activities included writing copy and assisting in the production of television promotions for many of Fox's TV shows.

I worked here during summer and winter breaks from school. I helped organize personnel files, answer benefit questions, perform payroll runs, etc...
