About Whitney Miracle
I am a...• born and raised Mississippian with a huge heart for local culture and community building; • a two-fold graduate of Southern Miss (it’s hard to resist typing a “To the Top!” after that - I was always one for spirited chants); • a seriously emotive team player with both strong people pleasing skills and the ability to speak my mind; • a compassionate leader who feels a surge of excitement at the prospect of squeezing yet another project into my schedule; • a brand strategist, who even as a 'how' person believes you have to start with the 'why;'• obsessed with communication and channeling it to the appropriate audience in the most suitable voice by visual, written and spoken means; • experienced at running both in-house operations for an institution comprised of more than 1,000 employees as well as holding my own as the sole designer for a private firm; • an unexpected and now experienced package designer and event coordinator whose dream date is a large-scale print layout project; • a generator of positive energy that has proven to be contagious; • and, apparently, a crafter of brilliant run-on sentences.
Listed skills include Photo Art Direction, Art Direction, Job Scheduling, Customer Interaction, and 27 others.

Creative Director
Design Director
As Director of Design, responsibilities include: creating and managing brands and integrated marketing campaigns for our clients across multiple channels; content and strategy development, art direction; copy writing; layout design; photo direction; project management; managing a team of designers as a member of the leadership team; video, audio and print production; digital marketing design and implementation; and Purpose development work.
Graphic Designer
Creative Director
As Creative Director for Hattiesburg Publishing, I'm responsible for crafting, nurturing and protecting the brand of our multiple publications as well as the overarching publishing company, also known as HubCitySPOKES.Our weekly publication, The PineBeltNEWS, has become the most-read newspaper in the Pine Belt, delivering over a pound of news to over 4,000 households on a weekly basis with our print edition (and countless more with our digital platforms). Aside from leading the rebrand efforts for this newly-consolidated periodical (formerly distributed as The Hattiesburg Post, The Petal News and The Lamar Times), weekly responsibilities include project management and print production as well as general design. In addition to our weekly offering, HubCitySPOKES also produces Signature, South Mississippi's Premier Lifestyle magazine. Each month, I'm responsible for managing the production of Signature, from content creation, layout, project management, print production and social media efforts.Mostly, if asked to provide an elevator pitch for my duties as Creative Director, I'd sum it up with claiming responsibility for the entire look, feel and visual voice of our publishing efforts, back by a great team of dedicated journalists and sales professionals that tolerate (and possibly even enjoy!) my very loud laugh.
Graphic Designer
Director Of Operations
As the first point of contact for customers (whether phoning in with questions or visiting our shop), it's my responsibility to inform them not only of their window tinting options but also the existing tint laws. Direct automotive film sales is my number one task, along with scheduling all automotive appointments for the shop utilizing the latest in online software to ensure smooth work flow. I love the amount of communication this job provides, as I help inform customers as to the best choice film for the job they're seeking and answer all their questions (and they have LOTS of questions!)Additionally, I created a customer database, send out a newsletter weekly and monitor our social media sites for questions and reviews, generating responses when necessary. I maintain film ordering inventories, register warranties, order necessary supplies (creating forms and documents when needed to keep that work flow going!), and provide office administration duties as needed. After redesigning the new website for SPF with a user-friendly contact portal, our customer online inquiries (which I also manage) increased nearly 400%. I also created coordinating brochures that advertise our other areas of expertise (commercial and residential tinting), point of sale displays, business cards, and a direct mail campaign that saw its initial investment recouped after the first six weeks of implementation.
Brand Manager
Responsibilities as brand manager for one of Mississippi's fastest growing craft breweries included creating packaging solutions for the Southern Prohibition brands, from inception to design to vendor sourcing. This included original illustrations as well as art directing responsibilities for contributing artists. I created (designed, vendor sourced, managed inventories of) SoPro merchandise and promotional materials (think t-shirts, koozies, stickers, tap handles) via in-person sales and our online store, maintained and fulfilled orders from the distributors and created an online database of all marketing materials for distributor use.I was charged with creating original content for the brewery website (which I designed and managed), Facebook page, monthly newsletter and Instagram. Additionally, I executed artwork across multiple platforms (online, merchandise, point of sale) that appropriately conveyed Southern Prohibition Brewing’s voice. Other packaging tasks included extremely strenuous vendor sourcing (gotta get that deal!), maintaining over $100,000 in brewery inventory, and even assisting in the physical packaging of the beer when necessary (and of course, drinking it, too!)After participating in the planning and design of the taproom, which opened in September of 2015, I became responsible for managing taproom operations, including staff coordination, event planning, equipment maintenance and running of day to day operations.
Owner/Director
Hattiesburg Hot Yoga and More offered the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga, a style similar to Bikram Yoga. Each class consists of yoga/asana in a room heated to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit for 75-90 minutes. The yoga classes were practiced in a heated room to stretch and strengthen various areas of the body. Consistency creates a physical, mental and spiritual harmony that will be felt in all areas of the practitioner’s life.As owner and director of Hattiesburg's only Hot Yoga studio, I was responsible for all areas of business. I created, maintained and documented all financial transactions for the business, including payment of all vendors and our four contract yoga instructors. I generated financial projects and monthly reports for my two silent business partners as well. On a daily basis, I created and maintained class schedules as well as HHY's website and social media accounts. While running the studio, I also taught an average of 12-15 classes a week (totally some 900 odd hours of Hot Yoga during the two years the studio was open).
Graphic Designer Ii
As a small agency, my task as Graphic Designer II at Rare included utilizing advanced design skills to create original graphic designs that appropriately reflected RARE’s design philosophy and suited the needs of our clients. I participated in activities that increased understanding and working knowledge of branding, the brand development process and the branding marketplace in which RARE does business. I was an integral member of a small design team that developed client marketing, advertising and creative strategies and solutions from a standpoint of full knowledge of brand principles for our clients. This included the production not only of deliverables but of presentation materials that effectively communicated design concepts to both internal and external audiences. Knowing that great design shouldn't break the bank, additional tasks involved the development and management of financial projections for accounts. To this point, I assisted the creative team by reminding them of benchmarks, providing time tracking updates, and ensuring we were meeting project goals.
Coordinator Of Graphic Design
In addition to my graphic design responsibilities listed below, as Coordinator of Graphic Design I managed workflow for three graphic designers, two interns and a printing administrator. Additional responsibilities expanded to include video development, creative concepting, recruiting interns, assisting in the hiring of graphic designers and assisting in directing the ongoing image development campaign for the University.
Graphic Designer
During my role as graphic designer for Southern Miss, I was responsible for visualizing, conceptualizing, researching, sketching, collaborating and designing materials that promoted and enhanced the University. On a daily basis, I provided creative solutions via print and promotional materials for the University client base. This often involved management of multiple projects and schedules at one time, as well as working closely with the marketing manager, photographer, copywriter and external print vendors to ensure a timely and satisfactory project completion. Another important aspect of my job required that I lead one-on-one meetings with our clients to asses their communication and material needs. When required (though I loved it!), projects would involve directing photoshoots and assisting with video projects. Along with my fellow designers, I was lucky enough to participate in the major rebranding of the University, when we unveiled the latest rendition of the dome logo in 2010.
Graphic Design Intern
Responsibilities included:• maintaining company web site, including the initialuploading of images and text via an existingXML file• digital photo manipulation• creating client presentations • designing advertisements• assembling presentation aids with various bindery machines andmaterials• customer service representative.
