I have quite a busy job at the Washington Business Journal. No day is the same and multiple things are happening at once, which I love! You can't focus on one thing, or you'll fall behind in another. It's a challenge and the successes are rewarding. I have a great team to work with and can't imagine a better office! Below are just a few things that I do at the Business Journal - any questions? Just ask!• Direct, manage and plan all aspects of events/programs for the Washington Business Journal (WBJ)o 13 signature events (each with pre and post events), 6 Business Breakfasts, in house events• Oversee and supervise all departments in execution of divided jobs (Sales, Editorial, Audience Dev.)• Employ all vendors and negotiate pricing and development of in kind partnerships with vendors• Create yearly contracts with consistent vendors and act as POC• Coordinate marketing timeline with Marketing Manager and Audience Development o Marketing for events and nominations includes: • print, digital, radio, tv, emails, and promotion at outside events• Produce nomination programs (forms, participation, judges’ meetings, selection)• Contact finalists/honorees for each event (main POC) and coordinate logistics (video/photo, event tickets)• Approve and assist to create marketing materials, ensuring events and sponsors are correctly displayed• Organize all sponsor logistics and act as POC• Create new and different sponsorship opportunities and support booking clients • Budget all expenses and keep working record of event revenue goals and budget• Manage registration (prior to event, during and after)
