Supporting the EastSide Arts Alliance and Outreach by Design Redistricting Outreach team - Coordinating outreach opportunities with Redistricting Commissioners, community-based organizations, and resident-volunteers- Developing weekly newsletter and other communications materials to get redistricting information out to the public - Engaging Oakland residents and community members on how to provide input throughout the redistricting process- Tracking and managing outreach events conducted and attended

- Authored Circular Food Economy (CFE) Resolution to be adopted by the Board of Supervisors to formally support the ALL IN Eats Circular Food Economy, a countywide initiative to address food insecurity, poverty, climate change, and public safety; - Built relationships with local government and community-based partners to move forward farming, food hubs, and other efforts of ALL IN Eats; lead monthly stakeholder meetings of 40-50 members; figured out details to support implementation of Good Food Purchasing Policy (Vendor RFQ) and SB1383 food recovery contract; wrote monthly newsletter and create presentations to share updates, resources, and successes- Represented ALL IN Eats in weekly global UN Food Systems Game Changers Lab Sessions to develop food systems solution accelerators

- Contributed to evaluation design and methods; securely conducted patient interviews and transcriptions; qualitative data analysis and report writing; and presented findings working with a team of four across five SF Food Pharmacy clinics and 31 patients total- Findings were delivered to ASTHO/NACCHO’s national, multi-sector Improving Social Determinants of Health: Getting Further Faster evaluation program

- Implemented weekly Food Pharmacies at 4 out of 7 clinic sites that each reached an average of 25 patients a week, totaling 500+ unique patients during the service year as a National Health Corps member at SFDPH’s Food as Medicine Collaborative, which supports healthcare systems to tackle food insecurity and promote nutritional behavior change, and prioritizes serving the Black/African American community in SF- Supported staff in executing program to ensure high-quality patient experience; compiled and analyzed data from patient surveys and monitored program impact using Excel; managed recruitment and selection process of 2020-2021 NHC Food Access Coordinators- Adapted quickly during COVID-19 to coordinate logistics and procedures with 11 clinics to enroll 200+ high-risk patients in SF Marin Food Bank’s home-delivered grocery program; facilitated biweekly calls amongst 20-30 clinic staff and CBO partners sharing food resources and developing strategies to support patient food security- Championed racial equity improvements in volunteer and member recruitment process as a self-nominated SFDPH Racial Equity Champion, an inaugural cohort of 80 DPH staff members

Worked on a project with goal of aligning core purchasing values with food sources to address and shift structural inequities within the food system regarding the lack of access/opportunities for historically marginalized groups.- Interviewed diversity vendors and distributors- Identified gaps, challenges, and areas where Guckenheimer has an opportunity to make an impact in shifting the dynamics in the industry to increase opportunities and support for potential diversity vendors

- Conceptualized programs to engage diverse communities of student to create an inclusive Program- Solicited feedback from students on courses and Program to bring to administration and faculty attention- Advised undergraduates on planning classes, internships, and jobs- Organized educational and social programs quarterly- Coordinated weekly email digest highlighting events, opportunities, internships, and jobs- Managed social media pages

Collaborated with Government Affairs Team on grant concept proposals, applications, and Proposition 68 grant management.- Gathered online research materials to support grant applications- Drafted letters of support on behalf of community partners- Formulated grant and policy memos for decision makers- Wrote grant concept proposals and applications- Reviewed the 2018 Proposition 68: The Clean Water and Safe Parks Act and prepared a comprehensive grant management chart detailing all possible funding opportunities and important deadlines- Created a Prop 68 presentation to familiarize the Land Protection and Park Creation teams with various funding allocations and upcoming grant/concept proposal deadlines

Worked on an 8 person staff in Okada, a 76 student, four-class, Asian American- theme residence.- Fostered an inclusive and reflective community in the undergraduate residence- Provided support and spaces for intellectual, academic, and emotional development of residents- Created, planned and implemented academic, cultural and social events/trips

Formulated a proposal and was awarded a 2017 Chappell-Lougee Scholarship to pursue independent photo project, Japanese American, too, showcasing the range of diversity in the Japanese American community by photographing mixed-race Japanese American families in CA, centered around the question, “What does it mean to be Japanese American?”- Presented at UC Berekeley APIICON 2017

Research under Dr. Peter Vitousek:-Conducted independent research experiment analyzing soil moisture in relation to uala (sweet potato) growth- Planted and maintained gardens of uala (sweet potato) and ko (sugarcane)- Educated local community and students about the traditional intensive/sustainable Hawaiian farming practices
