I am an accomplished frontend developer, project manager, and team lead with an extensive background in website development and multimedia projects from activation through deployment and maintenance. As a developer, I often work with vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, React, SCSS, PHP, and WordPress. As a project manager and team lead, I built strong teams - often comprised of strategy, design, and development resources - that achieve successful project delivery in agile, incremental, milestone-driven and waterfall SLDCs. Among the 20+ project management and development tools I have used are JIRA, Basecamp, Teamwork, Harvest, Jenkins, PHP Storm, VS Studio, and Docker, as well as all things Microsoft and Google. Using these tools, I have delivered award-winning projects on open-source platforms like WordPress and proprietary products like Sitecore and Magento.In November 2019, I was elected to the nonpartisan Merriam City Council to serve a four-year term; and I was reelected in November 2023. I currently serve as the City Council Vice President, and often represent Merriam at public and private events held locally, regionally, and nationally with staff and elected officials at all levels of government. Merriam, Kansas, is a second class city with a population just over 11,000 that borders Kansas City, KS. I represent Ward 2, which runs north/south from 53rd and 51st Streets to Shawnee Mission Parkway, and east/west from Antioch to Switzer. Geographically, I-35 splits Ward 2 down the middle, with most of the east side being commercial and retail hubs and the west side being a diverse residential area. Earlier in my career I was an online producer, editor and community moderator for news organizations in northeast Kansas. As a journalist I received two Edward R. Murrow awards, the top prize for in-depth coverage from the Society of Professional Journalists, and an Emmy nomination.
