Leo Lion is an artist, educator, and storyteller based in NYC, and the founder and Artistic Director of The Firebird Project, a national-award winning independent arts education and production company. Leo also serves as the Associate Artistic Director of Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, an innovative classics theatre in NYC and Rockland. Leo is also a theatre director who has received multiple National Youth Arts Awards, as well as the the author of several plays and a flash-fiction collection: “Over the Bed: A Little Book About Things That Dwell.” As a teaching artist at Firebird, Leo has been leading youth art & writing classes since 2010, offering instruction in acting, improv, playwriting, filmmaking, animation, and creative writing for students ranging from ages 9 to 19. Leo is also a game master for collaborative roleplaying games, having run tabletop games both in-person and online for groups of all ages.Leo’s art and writing has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The New School for Design.
