    Supported Guatemala’s National Rural Extension System by building capacity among low-income farming communities and municipal rural extension agents. Worked independently, and collaboratively with a rural extension team, traveling frequently between hard-to-reach communities and building strong relationships with farmers, agricultural organizations, local government, private foundations and non-governmental organizations. Coordinated meetings and activities with community groups of indigenous women leaders to address social and environmental challenges related water scarcity, food insecurity, deforestation, and poverty. Organized, educated and connected groups of local actors to skill-building opportunities for women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.Trained and supported community partners and rural extension agents in the implementation of sustainable development methodologies such as Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), and Participatory Analysis for Community Action (PACA), as well as in the use of non-formal adult education techniques, such as ERCA (Experience, Reflection, Conceptualization and Application). Led collaborations between Guatemala’s Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and Save the Children, to train 21 directors of municipal rural extension agencies in the use of digital organizing tools and mobile platforms, such as KoBo. Facilitated the development of a spatial database management system for Guatemala’s Ministry of Agriculture in the department of El Quiché. System is used to interpret and monitor the impact of rural extension interventions in communities.Selected by Program Manager to serve on the Project Advisory Committee. Led the Monitoring and Evaluation Subcommittee and regularly presented on project advancements to elected officials and project stake holders.
