Over the past 20 years in marketing and communications, I've dealt with fairly complex and diverse issues at work - aggressive environmental lobbies, strict government regulations, pressures of stiff competition, finding customers for new product concepts, helping brands mean more to their customers. I always ask "why"​, and "how can we do it differently and better"​? Whether it's in public relations, branding and advertising, or promotions and events, I strive to combine strategic and creative thinking to solve business problems. And nothing gives me a greater rush than helping teams arrive at breakthrough ideas through insight and inspiration. I love working in multi-cultural teams, and have led regional teams in both consultancy and in-house roles, covering markets like Singapore, Malaysia, India, Taiwan, China, Korea, and Australia. I've worked on global brands spanning FMCG, healthcare, consumer IT, beauty, banking/finance, newspaper publishing and tourism. But where my passion lies is with food and travel/hospitality brands! In the last 3 years, COVID-19 gave me the opportunity to stretch my skills into product development and guest experience design for luxury cruises, and it has been an incredibly challenging but exhilarating and rewarding journey - especially when the product I helped to launch has received numerous awards, high guest ratings and rave media and customer reviews to date. Obviously, I could not have done it alone - this project has also honed my people management skills - not only did the team I had to lead increase 3-fold, I have had to lead people through a difficult period, and help them transition into new responsibilities in areas new to us all.
