William Hughes (Will) Watson is a public / government relations consultant, noted maritime expert, intelligence, security and crisis management advisor, analyst, journalist/analyst, working in the Washington, DC area. Will is Founder and Managing Director of The William Watson Group, LLC (WatsonGroup). Will is a Silver Owl member of the National Press Club and is past president of the Connecticut Circuit of the Associated Press. Additionally, Will has been a reporter, writer, analyst and managing editor of four US East Coast daily newspapers and several international magazines.Will has an extensive background in maritime security, having led fleet security operations for the Marshall Islands Registry; been an executive with two international security firms; and remains a consultant to both agencies in the US Intelligence Community and the private sector.Will is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina and a veteran of the US Air Force Reserve and the South Carolina Air National Guard. He remains active in veteran affairs and is Past Commander of the Lloyd Williams Post 41, American Legion in Berryville, VA; is Judge Advocate of the Legion's 15th District in Virginia; and is active in both the Air Force Association and the Non-Commissioned Officers Association. Will is a member of the Administrative Board of the Apostleship of the Sea of the USA; serves on the Board of the National Maritime Law Enforcement Academy; is a member of the Council of American Master Mariners (CAMM); is a Regular Member of The Nautical Institute; and a member of the Propeller Club of the United States (Washington DC Port).
