Born in Medan, Indonesia, Wice Kosin began her musical training at the tender age of three. She was the student of the renown pianist Prof. Benjamin Loh. In 2006 she clinched the Overall Second prize for Solo Category and Third prize for Concerto Category in the IBLA International Competition held in Jakarta. She was also awarded a special Diploma for her interpretation for Shostakovich's Prelude and Fugue Op.87, No.24. In 2007 she won silver medal at the 6th Asian Youth competition held in Singapore. In 2009, she blitzed through both the Asia International Piano Academy & Festival Competition at South Korea and the 19th International Young Musician Competition "Citta di Barletta" at Italy in the same year. She was bestowed the Silver Prize and Second Prize respectively for her artistry.Wice has performed in many masterclasses by Eric Contini from l’Académie Communale de Musique de Bastogne, Jung Hwa Lee from Eastman Music School, Adam Gyorgy (1st prize winner of International Liszt Competition), Prof. Stefan Ammer and has also been selected by NAFA to participate in the masterclasses of Toh Chee Hung, Dennis Lee and Vladimir Schidemair and Ong Lip Tat as well.In the course of completing the BA(Hons) in Music conferred by the University of Wales in 2008 at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Wice was also awarded the Tan Chin Tuan Merit Award for her undergraduate studies. Her many performances in solo and chamber recitals at Esplanade Recital Studio, NAFA Lee Foundation Theatre, Nanyang Girls’ School Auditorium and Medan has led to frequent collaborations with various instrumentalists and vocalists, making her a highly sought-after collaborative pianist. She has also worked with the Singapore Lyric Opera in their production of La Traviata and Singapore Lyric Children’s Choir as a choral répétiteur.
