Kagiso Tiso Holdings Proprietary Limited (KTH) is an investment holding company. KTH’s investments are in sectors that include media, resources, infrastructure, power and financial services and include a mix of both listed and private investments.This role involved reporting to the Group Financial Manager and CFO across all investments of the group. Anthony’s role was to review the work performed by accountants, prepare financial statements in terms of IFRS, address audit queries regarding such financial statements, prepare group companies for year-end audit, report on quarterly imvestment performance and assist the GFM and CFO with ad hoc projects.

Seconded to Kagiso Tiso Holdings, a large investment holding group. During this time Anthony built relationships with the finance team, auditors, directors and investee company management. He reported to the group financial manager and had two accountants reporting to himself. The role included the following:• Reconciling intercompany balances and clearing long outstanding differences• Preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS for 40+ entities• Performing system implementations and resolving difficulties identified• Review of monthly accounts• Compiling complex interim and year end consolidations and sub-consolidations for audit and shareholder reporting in terms of IFRS• Project managing audit and interim reporting timelines• Following up with confirmations of balances• Preparing equity accounting, fair value, deferred tax and impairment adjustments in accordance with IFRS• Addressing audit queries and proposed adjustments• Providing support in retrieving audit evidence• Identifying and addressing prior period errors• Calculating provision adjustments• Preparing company and consolidated cash flows including that of the ultimate holding company• Developing debt sensitivity models• Preparing, processing, reconciling and confirming debt amortisation models• Calculating and preparing dividend declarations and debt settlements and communicating expectations to various parties• Holding meetings with transactors and directors regarding accounting treatments and status updates• Reporting on balance splits and movements within the group• Calculating and reporting intrinsic and net book values of investments for shareholder and board meetings• Reporting on ad hoc requests and confirmations for external parties• Preparing group results for shareholders and board members• Preparing accounting memo’s for adjustments in terms of IFRS• Calculating and preparing cash flow forecast models for debt raising including variables of possible outcomes
