Practicing, promoting and enabling the delivery of practical solutions for many years in diverse roles including engineer, manager, scrum master, coach, director, entrepreneur, teacher and consultant. He recognized the potential of Agile when he first saw it 20 years ago and quickly became an enthusiastic practitioner and evangelist. He has led Agile teams, established Agile practices in traditionally "non-Agile" domains and helped executives improve their organization's ability to consistently deliver value to customers.Besides being a Certified Scrum Master, licensed PE and Baldridge examiner, he holds certifications in multiple disciplines including PSEM, CSDP from IEEE, CSQE, CMQ/OE and CQA from ASQ, and PMP from PMI. David has been active as a member, volunteer and/or officer in Agile Austin, Scrum Alliance, IEEE Computer Society, ASQ and others. He has been a volunteer teacher at Agile Austin U and Veterans4Quality, and a long-time organizer of the Keep Austin Agile (KAA) Conference, leading subcommittees and serving as co-chair in 2017. He currently serves on the board of Agile Austin, the Scrum Alliance North American Gathering Team, and the committee that created and maintains the Software Professional Engineer exam for NCEES.He recently left his position as Vice President of Quality for a Texas based Consulting Group and founded Calaveras Group which assists Agile startups and transformations, and helps organizations deliver better solutions by identifying and addressing systemic issues. David lives in Austin, Texas and does what he can to keep Austin weird. He loves traveling to unique places all over the world to experience and photograph incredible landscapes, diverse cultures and remarkable wildlife.
