Instruct Petroleum Geology Basics

•Generate 4D petrophysical and core based computer models for monitoring horizontal drilling.•Regional and local modeling of reservoirs including the Belly River, Lloyd Minister, Upper Manville, Glauconite, Dina, Ellerslie in various areas of Alberta, such as Provost Delia and Michichi and the Bluesky of the Peace River Oil Sands Area, Elkton/Shunda in Ferrier, the Boundary Lake formation in British Columbia, Ratcliffe, Nisku in the Williston Basin of Montana and North Dakota. Incorporated seismic structure when available and appropriate.•Regional Upper Manville Coal Bed Methane detailed studies around T35-41-R18-4W4M.•Design, implementation and geo-steering of horizontal wells in light to heavy Lower Manville oil and CBM.•Contributed many improvements to the functionality of the Smart4D modeling software such as showing TVD in deviated wells to help with correlation to other wells, improving modeling accuracy of honoring well data, 3D views cross sections and providing input into the design of drainage analysis.•Supervision, training and mentoring other geologists, engineers and technicians on Accumap, and Smart4D modeling.

•Analysis, design, coding of geological map analysis software which became the default gridding algorithm •Migration of legacy USGS Fortran code to Delphi 5.0 for Geologic Modeling Software

•Development of image and document delivery system of survey and land documents and maps

•Well site planning and supervision of 110 well core hole program at Suncor’s Oil Sand Steep Bank expansion project

•Analyzed and designed the geological framework including multi-zone models and unconformities for geological and reservoir engineering systems on PC computers, which led to the current Smart4D modeling software still being used.•Reservoir characterization and regional inventory of gas reserves for southern Alberta

Worked for various companies such as Esso Resources as a senior Athabasca McMurray oil sands geologist. Worked at Sulpetro as a senior geologist developing Viking, Colony, Manville, and sub-crop Pekisko, Banff and Wabamun gas and oil prospects in such areas as Slawa, Big Bend, Roseglen, Rowely, Buck Lake Enchant and Lindberg areas.
