As a Solution Architect is was responsible for both long term as short term. Working on vision and future proof solutions as also helping the team with the first step to get there. All on a data logistic perspective. CICDWe managed to fully automate our way of deploying software. From creating the software extraction and creating a deployment package. To deploying it to several environments. We used several components to do the trick: Maven, GIT, Jenkins, XLD, XLR. My main focus was on XLD (XLDeploy) and XLR (XLRelease). Main goal: Figure out your way of deploying and make sure that the tool can follow your way of working. It’s up to the software to adapt your vision. Not the other way around. WhereScapeThen we came to a point in time where we needed to make a choice. Further evaluate PowerCenter generation or getting an external party involved to support us with the generation. There we came in contact with WhereScape. We did a Proof of Concept (or TestDrive) and they succeeded. Wherescape was chosen as the tool to provide us with generation of the Datawarehouse solution. My role was to be there during the PoC and provide feedback. After the choice was made I stepped back into the background.RentederivatenI got the question whether I could help out a team working on the subject RenteDerivaten. It had a small contact with data logistics but mainly it was a full landscape of services. Including paying customers where we need to use to solution of Rabobank. During that time my communication skills were tested because most of the time I was asked to do things I didn’t know yet. How to send letters? How to send money to costumers? How to convert documents? Software qualityWorking with Informatica is a great way of developing data streams. Still it’s important to manage quality. Several query’s written on the repository of Informatica give us insight in the quality.Building with Informatica PowerCenterMaking mappings and workflows, creating reusable components and smart solutions within Informatica Powercenter, how to make best use of the software. That were the key aspects during my 8 years of using this nice piece of software. Generating Informatica PowerCenterA subject which comes back over and over again. Generating your data warehouse of creating it manual. My vision is to automate it all, with boundaries. The biggest pitfall is loose of knowledge. Sure it’s nice to automate it all, but you need to keep track of continuity. Without that the created automation is useless over time. Within my time with Rabobank I was fond to use a solution to generate PowerCenter mappings and workflows. The solution was build in house Rabobank. But as mentioned before also there it was hard to maintain the generation software.

Als DME III binnen Ordina VisionWorks ben ik continu ingezet geweest bij Rabobank. Een erg leuke klus! Daarnaast heb ik ook vele malen mijn training Informatica PowerCenter mogen geven. Zowel voor intern Ordina als ook voor Rabobank en DUO. Hierbij leer ik je basis zaken rondom data verplaatsing als ook best practices voor het werken met Informatica. Erg erg leuk om te doen :-).
