As a young adult working with children in justice settings, I struggled to connect with the expectations systems had of children's cognitive and developmental capacity. I vowed to make my way to a career that compassionately and developmentally understood and supported children. I started a Psychology Masters at Deakin University and whilst studying in my first year, by accident I stumbled upon the Therapeutic Child Play subjects. I took one unit, and I knew I'd found my place in the world. I transferred to the Masters of Therapeutic Child Play and moved interstate to work for a seasoned Supervising Registered Play Therapist to obtain hands on experience whilst finishing the degree. I am passionate about supporting children and families who have experienced Coercive Control & Domestic Violence, complex trauma, attachment disruption, developmental delay, and Neurodiversity.
