As a clinician I represented multiple clients in federal and state tax matters. I worked as an advocate for my clients negotiating with the IRS and State Treasury to decrease or eliminate client tax liability through offers in compromise or installment agreements.While working at the clinic I also participated in public outreach programs that provided tax guidance to veterans and active military service members. The outreaches were used to provide general information to diverse groups and then retain clients who had more complex legal issues.

As an extern I represented 4 to 6 clients accused of felony charges a week making pre-trial motions, asking the court for bail, and arguing points for sentencing guidelines. I also had the opportunity to represent a client during the preliminary hearing, questioning the reliability of the witness statements.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

I researched workers’ compensation statutes for all 50 States, Washington D.C., & U.S. Territories and created a database where I compiled and summarized all workers’ compensation statues so all employees had access and could comply with the various statutes.
