Volunteer in the Family Atrium (main surgical floor) at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Hospital for Special Surgery is ranked number one in the nation for orthopedics. I ensure family comfort while providing updates on patient's progression through Pre-Operative Services, Operation Room, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. It is my responsibility to help organize a pleasant experience for patients and their families while synchronizing family visits into the PACU.

Assist in various therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for high-risk and general obstetric and gynecologic patients. My duties include efficiently collecting and preparing numerous medical laboratory samples, phlebotomy, sterilizing equipment, preparing for procedures, ordering supplies and organizing the schedule.

Coordinated care of over sixty skilled and long-term patients. Effectively synchronized and directed the responsibilities of medicine technicians, treatment nurses, and nursing assistants.

Responsible for the daily management of skilled and long-term patients involving vital signs, documentation, activities of daily living, ambulation and other fundamentals.

Completed 300+ hour partnership in both Adult and Pediatric ICUs. Here I developed my acute care skills by working alongside a Registered Nurse until I eventually took my own complete patient assignment. This included medication administration, therapeutic nursing treatments, collaboration with healthcare workers, continuous monitoring, documentation, and becoming an active participant in patient's care plans. Conditions ranged from Shaken Baby Syndrome and Diabetic Ketoacidosis to gunshot wounds and anorexia. Became skilled and comfortable with intubation, wound vacs, central lines, ICP monitoring, urinary catheter placement, and other essential skills.
