It is with great interest that I am exploring employment opportunities as an online or corporate instructor/tutor/training manager. My recent experiences with distance learning, blended learning also stimulated my interest in your current employment opportunity. On the first day of my first year in teaching, the Director of Special Education offered the following bit of wisdom, “It’s not how many things you can teach but how many different ways you can teach one thing.” I have been continually applying this wisdom, what I now know to be fact, throughout my professional career. As teachers, we all have curriculums, common core standards and benchmarks to guide what we teach; the challenge is how we can facilitate learning for a diverse group of students.It is essential that students have clear ideas about their role as the learner. To aid them, my role as a teacher is to accomplish my objectives by providing students a clear understanding of how their work will be assessed and provide motivation. Developing critical thinking and problem solving skills helps to get students involved in their own learning. Instructional management goes hand in hand with success; my teaching style can therefore be best described as diverse, as are the students I have taught for the last twenty nine years. I vary my instructional teaching methods to engage and interest students. As a result, I am able to develop a trust, a rapport and a cohesive learning environment in my classes. When faced with challenges, I succeed in utilizing a variety of strategies to motivate and encourage positive interaction.
