I want to develop code, people, and healthy team culture. Coding gets me out of bed in the morning--usually very early. I love developing with teams that enjoy making great software together, and to expand my technical competency with new learning. I’m a self-learner, deep thinker, idea synthesizer, teacher and leader, who loves to master new tools and technologies and teach them to others.I'm a full stack developer, employing diverse technologies across multiple projects, a few for which I'm the owner or primary developer. On any given day, I'll code in Elixir with Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, Vue, GraphQL, PHP in WordPress. Occasionally, I also code in TypeScript, Ember, Angular, React Native. My early career was in software. My personal life during that time included people-helping. In 2004, I had an opportunity to pursue that passion full-time, turning avocation into vocation for eleven years where I grew substantially in non-technical skills like writing, public speaking, team leadership, training, and conflict resolution. For example:• Writing: I wrote and published a nonfiction book in the pastoral counseling field, selling over 40,000 copies internationally, with an Amazon average rating of 5 stars. One endorsement for the book from a top-rated author/speaker in the field reads: “I know of no other work that does what Wilkerson has done” (Paul Tripp).• Public Speaking: Presented a main session at a national conference for an audience of nearly 2,000 attendees (October 2015).• Leadership: Developed and taught an all-day seminar on organizational culture, addressing discrepancies in organizational culture between our espoused values and our implicit values.Programming Languages:• Primary: Elixir, JavaScript• Sometimes: PHP, Ruby, Rust• Previous: Java, Perl, Python, C++, C, C#, CIL (low-level assembly language for Microsoft .NET)
Listed skills include Leadership, Software Design, Program Management, Software Engineering, and 23 others.
