Reduced Maintenance Reliability Failures (MRF) from 130,000 hours per week to below 89,000 hours per week within a 6-month timeframe.•Evaluate effectiveness of capital projects & optimize equipment capabilities to improve capital process. Implementation of condition-based technologies such as the CSI 6500 vibration monitoring systems, which will reduce contractor headcount generating a savings of $600,000.00 annually.•Working with operations leaders to ensure that the equipment meets required specifications Created a mill strategy for oil storage and handling. Managed the Air Defense Operations for USS BULKELEY, including the training of assigned personnel in tactical and technical employment of the AEGIS Weapon System. Oversaw the scheduling, preparation, and tracking of maintenance. Led a division of over 60 Sailors. Managed and maintained a system of $100M+ in equipment and ready service inventory, to include the daily maintenance and overhaul of major equipment.As the single point of contact for a Ship’s Weapon System upgrade, which exceeded $50M in cost and required the coordination of all departments on the ship to produce a flawless operation, I drove the schedule and budget to finish on time and under budget. With a compressed schedule, I coordinated all equipment grooms (commissioning) and crew training associated with system upgrade; ensured all requisite maintenance was completed and all system discrepancies were corrected. Trained 2 firing missile firing teams of over 30 personal per team and crossed multiple divisions to achieve 3 successful standard missile firings. As the Air Defense Officer, ensured all pre-requisite schools and over 530 critical training objectives were achieved, resulting in a combat ready assessment during the first training review; Managed the ship’s Electronic Key Management System & 18 personnel, without incident for 2 years (classified material, which required the management of over 2000 separate pieces of material). Processed classified materials on a daily basis.
