Served for three months in the state of Oregon helping with non-medical tasks related to the vaccination campaign for COVID-19 in tasks such as updating a patients vaccination history on the state’s database to reflect their vaccination for COVID-19. Participated in canvassing operations to make people aware of vaccination events occurring in their local area.

Conducted phone interviews with those infected with COVID-19, informed them of public health protocols regarding the disease, gathered information about their close contacts, learned their symptoms and medical history, updated State of North Carolina’s COVID-19 database (NCCOVID)

Contacted people identified as close contacts to people ill with COVID-19, advised them on proper quarantine procedures, learned their possible symptoms, updated State of North Carolina’s COVID-19 contact tracing data platform (CTOOL)

I assist in the planting and harvesting of the lettuce, as well as the daily cleaning of the facility.

For a year, I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer, serving the community of Hrazdan, Armenia as an English teacher. I received 3 months of formal training in English instruction, as well as instruction in Eastern Armenian and how to navigate cultural and societal differences as an American living in Armenia. In my capacity as an English teacher, I helped a native Armenian English teacher with delivering lessons regarding American culture, lesson preparation, providing Armenian students the opportunity to speak with a native English speaker and in preparing presentations to supplement the information in their English textbooks. I also worked one-on-one with several special needs students, as there was no specialist to assist them otherwise. I also conducted weekly English clubs for interested students and teachers.

I worked at Your Local Greens, which is a hydroponic farming facility specializing in the production of lettuce. In my capacity at Your Local Greens, I assisted in both planting and harvesting the lettuce as well as in cleaning the daily cleaning of the facility.

Duties include customer service both on the sales floor and over the telephone, assisting in unloading stock from shipping truck to sales floor, cash register operation, operation of pallet jack and hauling freight, working with Staple's digital inventory system, operation of RF scanners for inventory and customer service purposes and occasional janitorial duties.

I volunteered as a classroom assistant with the English as a Second Language students at Culbreth Middle School. My duties included assisting students with questions regarding math, basic translation duties, one on one tutoring and assisting my supervisor with occasional grading and classroom lecture preparation.

I assisted with adult English as a second language speakers applying for the US Citizenship exam. assisted by providing explanation of US history and government where needed, as well as helping students with spelling and memorization of civics and history. Worked primarily one on one with students but would assist within the classroom with leading teachers as well.

My duties included writing a variety of stories regarding local Chapel Hill/Carrboro area, live reporting on local events when requested and recording stories via Adobe audition for broadcast. I was also the chief creative force behind Higher Education reform series broadcast by the station from February to November of 2017. In this series, I spoke to state politicians, professors, grad students, the President of Durham Technical Community College, the former head of the State Education Assistance Authority and the Dean of Education at UNC-Chapel Hill.

For the Tarheel, I worked for the University Desk that covered the goings on around campus at UNC. I covered events that ranged from staff meetings of University faculty to controversial speakers giving talks on campus.
