About Will Barker

Dr. Will Barker joined the renewable energy consultancy Natural Power in 2007 having completed a PhD in remote sensing at Leeds Metropolitan University. While working as a Wind Engineer he gained international expertise in wind farm design and resource assessment; the application of advanced technology for resource assessment, including remote sensing (ZephIR LiDAR) and CFD (Ventos); and ran a global network of anemometer masts and LiDAR equipment. In January 2010 he began working with ZephIR LiDAR to facilitate the transfer of expertise in wind engineering and lidar between ZephIR and Natural Power including the specification, installation and operation of the ZephIR LiDAR tall mast test site. Since 2010 Will has been a member of the IEC committee for the revision of IEC 61400-12-1 providing expert advice for the application of LiDAR for the measurement of wind turbine power performance and has also played an active role in IEA Task 32 for the development of recommended practices for the application of LiDAR in the wind energy sector. In April 2014, shortly after obtaining an engineering chartership with the IET, Will joined SgurrEnergy as an R&D Scientist to work with the Galion 2nd generation scanning LiDAR.

Listed skills include Cfd, Matlab, Energy, R&D, and 27 others.
