After 12 great years at Indian Creek School, I was presented with the incredible opportunity to come back to my alma mater, Gilman School, to serve in the role as Head Varsity Basketball Coach and Upper School Math Faculty. Many blood, sweat and tears went into building the Indian Creek Basketball Program from ground zero and it was a very difficult decision to leave. However, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't be more proud to represent this wonderful institution. After a 1-15 conference record in the ultra-competitive MIAA "A" Conference, we have a wonderful group of young men that want to work hard and are very coachable. While we will be one of the smaller teams in the conference, we are looking to embrace a defense first and uptempo identity and have the personnel to do so. I am joined by an incredible staff that includes two coaches that I played for as a player at Gilman. Please come out and support the boys! Having an academic philosophy revolving around brain based research, Indian Creek strives to offer all learners an environment in which they can be successful. The Academic Support Program is offered to students in grades 9-12 which provides a small room setting to help students foster study skills, establish organizational systems and provide overall academic guidance. The specific goals for each student revolve around capitalizing the student’s strengths, accommodating any weaknesses, and most importantly, helping to self-identify their learning styles so that they can become self-advocates as they venture off to college and as young professionals. Whether a student is a freshman or a senior, struggling with executive function issues or has a heavy course load filled with advanced placement level classes, the program is entered on a voluntary basis. The Academic Support Program doesn’t have a mold that your child needs to fit into, rather, the program molds to fit the needs of each individual student.

Summer Program for highly motivated students from Anne Arundel County Public Schools that are facing some sort of life challenge that they are working hard to overcome and be successful in the classroom. We accept fifty five students in grades 5-8 who are nominated by a Principal, Teacher or Guidance Counselor from their home school to participate in the three week long program. Indian Creek offers a scholarship program for a select number of STARs graduates to attend Indian Creek Upper School.

Opening the Upper School division of Indian Creek in 2004, it took a full year before we had enough students in our population to start a basketball team. In 2005, 6 brave student athletes decided to be the pioneers of our program as we practiced in a gym with no heat or running water. Fast forwarding to the 2013-2014 season, we just capped off our second consecutive MIAA Championship. Compiling a 38-8 record in conference over the past three seasons which included three consecutive regular season championships, our program has grown behind a base of wonderful student athletes and parents that are extremely supportive of our mission and philosophy.
