The conception, planning and… Show more 2022-2023 Events Coordinator & Professional Development Chair of NOMAS at Illinois Institute of Technology to assist in refortification of the chapter after COVID-years. Appointed Vice President in March for performance and initiative in helping the chapter during a vacancy in the position. In my roles, I executed numerous duties:1. Re-establishing the committee structures+keeping executive members timely and accountable (in addition to myself); 2. The conception, planning and moderation of "Development, Not Displacement," anti-gentrification panel+round table event on April 7, 2023 featuring recruited speakers Maurice Cox (Commissioner of the DPD Chicago), Jason Pugh (2021-2022 NOMA National President + Gensler Global Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Design Manager, Principal), Juan Moreno: President/Founder of JGMA, and Monica Chadha (Founder and Principal of Civic Projects). Per my recommendation, this is also co-moderated by our two incoming co-presidents Alexis Sanchez and Calyn O'Banion to establish strong roots for the incoming board;3. Leading the trip-planning to deliver our chapter to the NOMA National Conference in Fall; 4. Re-established and furthered professional connections with Chicago firms through the organization of multiple portfolio reviews, firm tours, networking events, and walking tours of built works with the professionals who made them;5. Establishing cross-chapter connections, including consultation Clarissa Mendez of cNOMAS.6. And day-to-day management and coordination with the College of Architecture at IIT, including the advocacy for a permanent faculty advisor and more diverse hiring.NOMASiit is needed now more than ever at the school. Its relative absence during COVID was tremendously felt. By August when my term is over, I hope to have laid solid groundwork for NOMASiit to soon resume its national notoriety and wish to stay involved via consultation on an as-needed basis. Show less
