About Will Bauer
Will Bauer is an engineer, inventor, and electronic artist. He has founded, or co-founded, five high-tech start-up ventures and a successful consulting company. In the field of electronic art, he has exhibited interactive, integrated-media installations at electronic art festivals and performances around the world. Will has worked on collaborative teams that have produced highly experimental, award winning, interactive media artworks, including multiple awards won at Ars Electronica and a WDR CyberStar award.Will holds a number of patents for his research in real-time-processing sensed body data into media and, as well, in other fields of technology. While directing the experimental tech group APR in the 1990/2000's, Will invented the Gesture and Media System (GAMS), a 3D multimedia controller driven by human body movement, and commercially licensed a version of this technology as a lighting control system. Will currently develops new technology for Moment Discovery’s Spatio platform, a real-time hardware/software system for 3D body tracking and processing of movement data to control multimedia outputs. He is also researching/developing new interactive 3D data visualization technologies for both artistic/entertainment and scientific applications. Concurrent with research and development of this emergent technology, Will is an interactive media artist, creating interactive multimedia and audio artworks based on these technologies.
