· Responsible for training, counseling, developing, and promoting of 60 loaders and six part-time supervisors ensuring their success.· Make certain all company-guidelines, expectations and quotas are met on a daily basis. · Manage day to day activities of union employees and part-time supervisors including attendance, vacation scheduling, payroll, training requirements, communications regarding operation start times and deadlines, and commitments to safety, service and performance set by the company.· Assume all responsibilities of the sort manager when he is off from work such as running the entire twilight operation, managing hundreds of employees during the operation · Ensure all dispatch pull times are met timely to guarantee a smooth running network throughout the Northeast region.· Analyze reports from multiple computer systems to recognize and understand trends in order to plan for the company’s current demands and any future implantations needed for improvement.· Help identify, communicate, and resolve operational issues to improve productivity, safety, customer service, and employee morale.· Ensure all contractual obligations are met by the company to the union employees, able to build relationships with the union resulting in no grievances from union employees within the last year· Communicate and plan with dispatch, all engineering departments, drivers, maintenance, I.T., H.R., field support and TSG to ensure a smooth running operation · Assisted in the creation of the “Load Simulation,” a training program, deployed nationally within UPS, which teaches new employees how to properly and safely load trailers before they join the operation.· Provide optimal service and maintain ongoing communications with customers by meeting deadlines and replying to all customer requests timely with complete detailed updates and feedback.
