I have ventured round all types of industries in my past jobs. At USP, where I studied AAT Accounting level 3 for 1 year I learned and gained to the first initial steps into becoming an Accountant. But then went on to work in construction during and post COVID-19, specializing in glazing for both commercial and local work. Whilst also being a locks company this workplace allowed me to explore and learn two trades simultaneously, whilst shadowing on small call out jobs as well as working on trainline jobs by fixing either doors, locks or broken glass. On occasions, we would have some big jobs, teaming up with MBE Glass, a large glass company located in York. We would fit shop-fronts for shopping centres such as Westfeilds White City, Westfeilds Stratford, Bluewater, Hotels and more. This required us to use extremely advanced equipment for lifting and manoeuvring tall, long heavy pieces of glass some weighing up to 400kg. I gained lots of skills at GC Glass and Locks such as key-cutting and programming, glass cutting and edging, use of heavy duty tools and measuring just to name a few and they helped me greatly leading on. I have completed a great deal of work for agencies EastBridge Recruitment and Adecco. Some being simple labelling and packaging at Zieglar, some involving large bulk parcels to be sorted for morning deliveries at Tuffnells. There are more jobs you can see I have done in my CV. My most previous job was Metal Sheet work, I was a trainee 'Technical Operator'. LaserTech DRM is a laser cutting company based in Rayleigh who specialize in metal sheet cutting, using fiber powered machines. I had to learn fast whilst also being precise and vigilant. Working for LaserTech pinpointed the importance of accuracy and quality of our work, constant checks were made, every first part of a metal sheet was taken out and looked over for the green light, standard procedures always followed. Communication was vital, as we discussed specific terminology relevant to the job in hand, mentioning different nozzle types (NK1215, F30) thicknesses, type and grade of material, measurements of sheet sizes (2000x1000, 2500x1250). Communicating well really made the process run smoothly, I wouldn’t know how it would be if we didn’t.
