Greetings! My name is Will Bowering and I currently attend St. Thomas More Collegiate High School. Some things I advocate for are: helping others, fostering community empowerment, and leading initiatives that inspire positive change.In 2019, I began volunteering for a non-profit organization called Droplet. Last year, I was appointed as Team leader to direct a group of 5 high school students to determine a method of supplying clean water for 2 schools in the mountainous regions of Colombia, South America. Ultimately, we were able to benefit hundreds of kids and their families by providing access to a reliable source of clean water. Through my involvement in the Droplet project, I had the opportunity to solve a real-world problem, and help others while working on my leadership skills. I was able to assist families in improving their quality of life with something as simple as clean water. This experience made me realize how much I enjoy working for positive change.Throughout my time at STMC, I've strived to make the community a better place. I was a peer tutor, social media manager for the music department, and member of the Blessed Edmund Rice Leadership team. With these experiences I have gained valuable skills such as: Working with younger students, marketing, and leading by example.Now, who am I? I am a sports-loving, pet-adoring individual with various diverse interests. When I'm in a less professional setting, you might find me tinkering with cars, learning about computers, playing an instrument, or playing some video games. Additionally, I have a passion for being active, whether it's through weightlifting at the gym, hitting the slopes, or playing some ultimate frisbee with friends. Last but not least, my adamant love for food. Whether it's trying to cook up a new recipe or discovering hidden culinary gems in my city, my love for food will always be present in my life.I want to make a difference. I want to make the world a better place by helping others wherever I can. For as long as I can remember, I have helped my fellow students, family, teammates, and others wherever our paths have crossed. Consequently, I have learned to solve problems with a methodical, sensible, and unpanicked approach. Additionally, I have been able to provide consistent performance in all endeavours, and rely on others when I am uncertain with a particular course of action.I am ambitious to connect with others and grow in any community that I may be a part of, so that I can get the most out of my potential, and be the best version of myself in this world.
