Starting out as a traditional apprentice in the building services engineering sector I ultimately progressed to become a Site Construction Manager in the early part of my career. Projects were predominantly on complex buildings in the pharmaceutical research and manufacturing industry.Moving into the service industry I established a successful cycle hire and retail operation within a large independent holiday park. This was achieved whilst concurrently acting as health and safety officer for the company. Following successful completion of a NEBOSH diploma I took on the role as health and safety manager for the holiday park which had a large estate with an extensive range of accommodation and facilities.Outside of work I have always been an active person. Over the years my hobbies have included fell walking, mountain biking, cycle touring and skiing.In recent years I have taken up the challenge that is competing in triathlons up to and including “Ironman” distance.I enjoy music both at home and at live events, as well as cooking, gardening and home D.I.Y. projects
