The Director of Student Engagement is the primary executor and designer of Campus Compact’s student engagement strategy which is a central component of our new strategic plan. As part of the Engagement team, under the direction of the Senior Director of Member and Student Engagement, Will will manage Campus Compact student engagement goals with the support of the Student Engagement Coordinator and in partnership with student leadership, such as the Student Design Fellows. The Director develops direct-student programming and support infrastructure for Campus Compact and our network, including fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations.

The Student Engagement Manager is a key leader in developing the next evolution of direct-student programming and support infrastructure for Campus Compact and our network. The Student Engagement Manager serves as the key driver for Campus Compact’s existing student-facing programming, anchored by the Newman Civic Fellowship program. The Manager designs the next generation of Campus Compact’s student-facing work by collaborating with students, national and local partner organizations, and faculty/staff on member campuses. The ultimate goal is to build a student-led sustainable infrastructure for robust student engagement across institutions that will harness students’ abilities and passions to address our most critical issues and will be built intentionally to attract and support students from historically marginalized communities. The manager is responsible for coordination across teams, working closely with colleagues to deliver student programs, engage Campus Compact members, and assess student engagement work across the organization.

Honey W. Nashman Center For Civic Engagement And Public Service

Manages all aspects of long term, ongoing co­curricular community service programs at GW, including but not limited to engageDC and GW SMARTDC . Oversees pre-semester community engagement programs.Develops, conducts research, implements, and evaluates new long term, and ongoing co-curricular community service programs at GW.Conducts regular community partner site visits and identifies new community partners; investigates and recommends opportunities for adjustment or expansion.Develops and implements civic, diversity and leadership training and education programs for student leaders and participants.Coordinates and collaborates across other Nashman Center programs and focus areas.Develops and manages budget, prepares reports, and assists with grant writing, and fundraising.Develops, implements, and monitors safety oversight and risk management procedures.Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises (~200) student staff; monitors compliance with and adherence to Federal Work Study and DC Public School program reporting guidelines.Promotes programs and community service and partnerships on campus and in the community through a wide variety of channels, including web and social media.Liaise with regional and/or national organizations as appropriate.Enhances knowledge and skills by attending workshops and seminars and reviewing published literature.

Barton House

The Barton House was an intentional living community of interfaith leaders who were receiving their graduate degrees in the fields of religion, peacebuilding, social work, and other related fields in the Boston area. From 2017-2019, the community consisted of 21 roommates across 5 religious groups and from 7 different countries.-Designed and led Barton House annual retreat.-Supported monthly community-building activities, including potlucks and guest speakers.-Refined the house orientation process and created a transition guide for future R.A.'s-Mediated conflict in the house and all major communications with the Walker Center.-Ensured all logistical aspects of the community were taken care of, including coordinating cleaning schedules, supervising kitchen protocols, and managing weekly email updates.

Waltham, Ma

- Oversees the Rich/Collins Community Leadership and Impact Fellowship program, including leading all marketing, recruitment, training, assessment, and student development efforts- Manages yearly $25,000 grant budget for the Fellowship and all donor communications, including annual report writing and regular donor communications- Advises 15+ student-led Alternative Service Break trips, including creating a new monthly leadership training series teaching best practices and overseeing all risk management procedures- Administers the Commitment to Service database hour-tracking system for 1,100 students, including report generation, data interpretation for stakeholders, and program evaluation; set a record for most users and hours ever recorded.- Assists Department Director in creation of new learning outcomes, and diversity, equity, and inclusion goals that align with institutional and communal priorities- Designs, plans and implements annual Celebration of Service event, including leading all outreach, invitations, program design, volunteer, and event logistics

Auburndale, Massachusetts

- Created and executed 3-part grant-writing plan for Faith Leaders in Action education program- Managed donor database system, donor giving page, and email fundraising campaign for Giving Tuesday- Enhanced Center communications, including developing surveys, videos, and social media advertising- Supported the Director in program development and strategic planning efforts*Left early due to expansion of full-time hours at Brandeis.
