Design and create course curriculums. Created Less Lethal Instructor course material. Chemical Agent Instructor and Less Lethal Instructor courses were first in California to incorporate Assembly Bill 48 requirements per California Peace Officers Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.). Coordinate logistical needs and materials for course presentations at various training sites. Primary instructor for both the chemical agent and less lethal instructor course. Courses cover history, safety guidelines, laws, use of force, various industry munitions and weapon platforms, managing live munition ranges, deployment factors and techniques, adult learning concepts, practical applications, mobile field force and the use of kinetic energy munitions and chemical agents per current state and local laws, decontamination, air purifying respirators use, care and maintenance, and testing.

Courses offered by CTS include: 3-Day Less Lethal Instructor Certification , 2-Day Ballistic Breaching Instructor Certification, 1-Day Ballistic Breaching Class, 2-Day SWAT/Tactical Grenadier Course, 2-Day Field Force Grenadier Course, 2-Day Penn Arms Armorers Course, and 2-Day Cell Extraction Instructor Certification Course.

County Of San Diego

Retired from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Prior to retirement, I was assigned to the Special Enforcement Detail / SWAT team. Responsibilities included but not limited to; entry team coordinator, weapons armorer, SWAT academy coordinator, logistics, and chemical agents. I have experience as a department instructor in firearms, building searches, detective entry, mobile field force, active shooter tactics, warrant planning and specialty unit instruction. Previous assignments include; gang suppression team, field training officer, patrol, and downtown central jail. I also contract as the Director of Training / lead instructor for the Chemical Agent Instructor course with Southwestern Solutions (previously with the California Association of Tactical Officers - CATO). The course is nationally recognized and is California P.O.S.T. Approved. I have taught this course the last 10 years and have conservatively instructed and certified over 1000 officers and government agents.

One of the lead instructors for the Chemical Agent Instructor (CAI) course until 2020 where CAI is currently hosted under Southwestern Solutions (https://southwesternsolutions.org/). The CAI course is a nationally recognized 40-hour California P.O.S.T. approved course.

1St Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1St Marine Division, Camp Pendleton

While serving as an 0313 - Light Armored Vehicle Crewman, I have been assigned as a Gunner, Vehicle Commander, navigator (platoon up to battalion size operations) and Platoon Sergeant. During my time I was assigned to Weapons Company and Alpha Company. I've deployed overseas twice with Alpha Company, 1st LAR Bn., 1st MarDiv. Both deployments were in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 & 2 (2003 with the 15th MEU/SOC and again in 2004).I received the following personal and unit awards prior to the end of my active service; Purple Heart w/ gold star device, Navy Commendation w/ V device, Combat Action, Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Meritorious Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct, National Defense, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Iraq Campaign w/ two bronze star devices, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Global War on Terrorism Service, and Sea Service Deployment ribbon w/ bronze star device.
