I am a self-managed team player with the ability to plan, manage and execute strenuous schedules and time frames. I am comfortable with computer operating systems and have strong verbal and written communication skills and is at ease in customer service situations. I grasp communication and organizational challenges and devise imaginative solutions.I retired after serving 17-years with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. During the last 11+ years, I was assigned to the Special Enforcement Detail (full time SWAT team) . My duties on the team included; entry team leader, assistant tactical team leader, chemical agent expert, mobile field force grenadier, team armorer, and department instructor. My previous assignments and experience in the department included; jail deputy, cell extraction team member, patrol, field training officer, and the gang suppression team. During my time with the Sheriff's Department, I have received several personal awards and unit citations.I am also a combat wounded veteran with two deployments overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 & 2. During my time in the united States Marine Corps, I held the following positions; Platoon Sergeant, Vehicle Commander, navigator, and Vehicle Gunner. During my time in the military, I received several personal and unit awards.I have over 15 years of instructor experience in chemical agents, mobile field force, grenadier, firearms, mission planning, less lethal munitions, entry, hostage rescue tactics, SWAT academy, specialized unit tactics, and other various training topics.
