I am Chairman and CEO of SaVia Health, a SaaS based healthcare software technology company. We provide clinicians and healthcare leaders with a no code, real time clinical decision support platform transforming paper-based, analog care processes into digital workflows. Prior to SaVia Health, I was Senior Vice President for Population Health at Health Catalyst, a public healthcare data analytics company, and SVP for Clinical Integration at a $6B integrated delivery system, building a value-based network comprised of over 2800 providers across 26 specialties. My experience spans diverse sectors including private equity, international supply chain, global health system development, value based networks, behavioral health, digital patient engagement, telemedicine platforms, and early stage technology startups.BackgroundI attended Davidson College preparing for a career in medicine, studying biology and working in East Africa as a wildlife manager. Living on a sailboat in Baltimore, I completed residency training in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System and the Shock Trauma Center of Maryland. I went on to achieve board certification in otolaryngology, allergy and immunology, and sleep medicine. Non-medical passions include flying small planes, backpacking, mountaineering, and skiing.Active in the field of global health equity, we recently won two Emmy Awards for a documentary film depicting work in Southwest Haiti. I currently focus on health system development as Senior Medical Advisor for Zanmi Lasante/Partners in Health-Haiti. I earned my MBA from Wake Forest University, finishing with Highest Honors. Cultural change management, value based care network development, and technology enabled quality programs are current professional interests. I advise healthcare startups, evaluate healthcare venture and PE investment opportunities, and provide strategic guidance to a myriad of for profit and charitable organizations. I am working now on obtaining a degree in Global and Refugee Health and a fourth board certificate in Wilderness Medicine.In my current role as CEO of SaVia Health, I am part of a team building healthcare decision support software to drive value, promote good health, and save lives. I continue to see patients and have received over 26 awards for clinical excellence during my 18-year clinical career.
