I wanted to gain holistic experience and understanding of both the academic and practical aspects of Quantity Surveying. Consequently, I elected to work in a construction firm throughout my studies, assisting the estimating team and Managing Director. This has given me additional insights into client relationship management and how multiskilled teams work together to deliver a successful construction project. I’ve also been able to apply what I learn from my degree course to real-world scenarios. I have worked with many construction professionals and believe my skills and study experience will enable me to contribute quickly and positively to Quantity Surveying teams. I strive to do everything to a high standard and enjoy taking on new challenges. As a trained RAF Police Reservist, I have assessed potentially dangerous situations and made rational decisions on the best actions to protect people and property. The RAF has also allowed me to expand my teamwork skills and understand when to take a leadership role and when to follow more qualified colleagues to ensure an objective is met. I am also a committed Rugby player who enjoys working out game strategies and implementing tactics.
