Responsible for managing a team within a large operations department covering feature and trailer mastering as well as content preparation. Handling, performance reviews, rota management, OT deployment and holiday requests as needed. Representing the department in inter-department and inter-facility meetings and on large scale projects and initiatives within the company. Leading and delegating training of operators across the entire department. Completing complex work orders and working on a variety of jobs to manage the department work load.

Assisting with the management of the teams within the department. Developing and implementing strategies and projects to ensure the functional operation of the department. Training new and existing staff. Producing a wide range of deliverables, primarily DCPs but more frequently including IMFs and ProRes. Similar to my previous role as a junior while taking more of a lead role in managing the workflow of the team including running shifts when the supervisor is not present. I am also required to train the junior members of staff and liaise with the department coordinators to ensure they are progressing well. As my own training progresses I am involved in more complex mastering and problem-solving. There are also some projects that I have developed outside of my job remit that require a certain amount of oversight to ensure the department is performing well as a whole.

This role called for a wide range of tasks associated with the creation and quality control of DCPs. We use various software, both purpose-built in-house and externally created. We use a number of source files including WAVs, TIFFs and MXFs and manage and create various metadata files and packages. Our work entails the combining of a number of other departments and external company's work and as such we have to be extremely vigilant for any errors as we are essentially the end of the line before the work gets delivered. I am also required to efficiently prioritise my workload and communicate with other members of staff and clients.

My role entails a vast array of tasks including creating final deliverables including DPPs, ProRes Masters, H264s for client viewing and DVDs. I create tape masters and clones as well as frame rate conversions and playouts of full programs or specific scenes/shots. I also perform eye-ball QCs and use Vidchecker on files. The role includes assisting clients with any issues they may have with their systems or projects and I perform a number of Data IO duties like file transfers and rushes downloads.

To manage all physical and digital materials passing into, through and out of the company including tapes and drives, and uploading/transferring data to external companies and clients. To organise the dispatching, receipt and delivery of material and media. To ensure that physical and digital materials within the building are traceable. To maintain the physical library as well as networked storage locations. To ensure any work undertaken and stock / materials used are logged and that billing data is passed to the Post Production Managers.
