I am currently Full Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at Arizona State University. My primary research interests are in the area of substance abuse. My laboratory research examines individual differences in subjective experiences of alcohol effects and the effects of alcohol on decision making and risk taking. My survey research seeks to understand risk and protective factors for alcohol and other drug use during late adolescence and early adulthood. My applied work focuses on the development of prevention and early intervention approaches to prevent alcohol-related harm among young people. I have ongoing projects in each of these areas. Beyond research, I am the director of Graduate Studies at ASU and I teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.Specialties: Clinical PsychologyAddictions
