Working as a Marketing Assistant at Bradfords Group I was exposed to a large amount of the business. As the Marketing Assistant, my main responsibility was to work on the branch campaigns. Planning my own successful monthly campaigns, for each brand and the rewards scheme, and supporting the large Christmas and spring campaigns. One campaign I am proud of was ‘Drill Down Cancer’ which raised £1500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and increased our sales of screws by £1000 for the month. Under Bradfords group I worked across four brands which meant brand consistency was key. This meant the work was varied and the workload had to be managed well.Other responsibilities included: Design work for branch events, event planning, communicating marketing strategies across the whole estate, running online and in-house competitions, measuring & reporting, social media, email marketing, merchandising, & dealing with suppliers on a regular basis. Bradfords is a very reactive company, meaning I had to work under strict deadlines and under a huge sum of pressure however always completing my work to the highest level. The skills I have learned will be a huge asset going forward into a new role.

During my time at Marketing Matters I learnt a lot about how a marketing agency works after shadowing an account director and going into brief meetings. My responsibilities included doing secondary research on client markets, making presentations, and helping out with a campaign idea.
