As a sales representative, I worked in a fast paced retail environment as part of a sales team. this meant that in addition to working in tandem as a team to achieve store sales goals, I also had to compete against them in ways to achieve my own sales goals, as I worked against sales metrics and monthly specific product pushes. inside of this I had to learn unaided how to handle customers who come in angry, or become angry for one reason or another. people are going to be upset and you have to learn how to handle them with out becoming upset yourself or making them even more upset. I truly think one of the absolute best skills I learned from working here was how to project a calm and assured personality, connecting with people and letting them know that it is going to be okay and that we can work through this.

Worked on a deli counter, my job consisted of making sandwiches. A good job that taught me the value of time management, working in a team, personal responsibilities, and how to talk to people and understand what they need, either a customer or a teammate. As far as my duties went, I would operate the slicer through out the day cutting pounds of lunchmeat. when I was not doing that I was on the order counter, taking orders in a busy and noisy deli in the middle of lunch. If I was not doing that then I was checking on the orders in place and making sure they were being done and if there were any special instructions making sure they were carried out, believe it or not when someone is on a sandwich counter making there 40th sandwich of the hour they do not like to be told that they have to add something special or make it a certain way other then the menu. can not say that I blame them, but the customer is always right so.... when the lunch rush was done I was often in charge of cleaning the slicer and making sure that other team members helped to clean up the deli and restock everything in preparation for the next rush or for the next day.
