About Will Doherty
Environmental scientist at AtkinsRéalis working in the water management consultancy (WMC).I completed my PhD in Applied Mathematics and Engineering (Computational Fluid Dynamics) at Cardiff University in 2024. I'm proficient in a number of programming languages (Python, C++, Matlab) and computational modelling techniques and thrive working on complex technical projects.During my PhD I combined many techniqeus in mathematics, engineering, and computer science to build a state-of-the-art piece of software from scratch to model complex fluid flow. Some skills I learned were abstract problem solving skills, tecnical computational approaches and mathematical and physical modelling. Over the course of my PhD I published two papers in the Journal of Computatioanl Physics, a top academic research journal, and presented my work at internatiopnal research conferences in Japan and the USA.
