As the community editor and co-founder of the Marblehead Current, I have played a pivotal role in establishing and co-leading a nonprofit community newsroom that serves over 20,000 residents. My responsibilities include co-managing editorial direction, producing in-depth articles on municipal topics, local initiatives and community concerns, and mentoring our interns. I consistently produce five to seven detailed articles weekly, with a focus on comprehensive local government coverage, including town budgets, zoning issues, and Select Board meetings. My role also includes navigating the complexities of local government operations, managing multiple work streams and helping ensure that the newsroom meets strict deadlines while maintaining a high standard of journalistic integrity.

A hyperlocal-focused newspaper/multimedia company on the North Shore, my flagship papers were the Salem Gazette and the Marblehead Reporter, both have circulations around 7,000. As a stringer, the editors asked me to write or enterprise stories on a freelance basis. I was later brought on as the Marblehead Reporter’s full-time assistant editor.

I supported and performed administrative duties, established a citywide initiative among seven youth agencies in Lynn, Massachusetts for a civic education program, and co-wrote the curriculum tailored to middle and high school students. I managed communications among youth and adult supervisors, created and maintained social networks, and co-created and administered evaluation materials to measure civic knowledge. Additionally, I organized panel discussions and forums on North Shore topics, facilitated college-wide workshops on shared leadership, expanded the Community Service Fair, and facilitated collaborations with the Service-Learning Department to ensure the fair's sustainability and institutionalization. I also co-coordinated Massachusetts Campus Compact’s Alternative Fall Break in Lynn.

Led college-wide focus groups to implement leadership on campus, established a Community Service Fair with 30 community organizations, organized a college-wide “Day of Service,” facilitated workshops on shared leadership, met with 49 community organizations to assess needs, documented volunteer opportunities, and wrote a leadership series based on student focus group information.
