I was offered a job as a Day Craft Member at British Steel in Scunthorpe at the Rod Mill Plant. My roles was to re-build Morgan Bevel gearboxes to within a tolerance to 14thou" to 17thou" and with the quality to last 7+ years, also re-build Danielli Gearboxes to within the same tolerances as said previous and remove and re-fit various sizes of couplings on our Main Drives and Carden shafts, as well as this to re-build drive spindles. I completed a Level 2 in engineering at North Lindsey college once I left school, which then led me to get an apprenticeship with at this company, where I passed my apprenticeship which lasted 3 years. I was lucky enough to be offered a full time job on completion. I then completed my HNC after the apprenticeship.
