Managed numerous applications, rulemakings, and formal complaint proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), focused primarily in the areas of distributed energy resources (solar, storage, demand response), utility finance, and ratemaking (Net Energy Metering, General Rate Case, electric rate design, time-variant rates); managed witness team output including supportive testimony and data requests responses; conducted settlement negotiations with intervenor parties; supported proceeding implementations, including advice letter development and tariff interpretations; assisted in the development and implementation of state legislation; Managed SDG&E’s participation in California Independent System Operator (CAISO) stakeholder initiatives and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) proceedings pertaining to DERP, energy storage / demand response, energy imbalance markets and CAISO market expansion. Successfully managed settlement and regulatory approval of SDG&E’s Customer Information System replacement application (a major capital / IT infrastructure project). Having increased my responsibilities over the years, I currently manage major rate design proceedings before the CPUC and FERC and am responsible for oversight of the Company’s retail tariffs. I also supervise employees in SDG&E’s Regulatory Affairs department.

Monitored and reported on daily FERC submittals and Commission orders; facilitated monthly Policy Round Table meetings; managed CAISO stakeholder initiatives, including the implementation of Scarcity Pricing and Convergence Bidding.

Managed implementation of major advice filings before the California Public Utilities Commission, as well as routine advice filings and compliance reports; provided tariff interpretations and subject matter-specific tariff ‘clean up’; provided data request responses to outside parties and internal business units; managed web-based Regulatory Compliance System and Tm2 filing system.
