In addition to my Purchasing role I also undertook training with LRQA to perform Internal Auditing for the company and to undertake audit preparation and quality document management and control for external auditing activities. I gained a real enjoyment of the challenge of internal audit investigation in my initial role with the business so I jumped at the chance to develop these skills when the opportunity arose. I undertook LRQA internal audit training in response to a requirement within the business and this expanded my role to include preparation for external audits and implementing changes and improvements in accordance with the demanding and changing quality needs of the industry and our customers. I have continued to develop my skill set and was excited by the challenge of preparing the company for the changes to AS9100: Rev D and ISO:9001 in 2015 by overhauling the existing documented procedures and processes to ensure that the company is up to date with current methods and requirements including risk assessments, analysis of key performance areas and control of documented information. This allows me to gain a greater understanding of each level of the business and how they interact with one another.

Working to develop and maintain PDS' extensive supply chain to exacting and demanding quality standards which are often updated and developed. Whilst in my role, I have undertaken professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply that have allowed me to develop the company's supply base and assist in securing our position in the wider aerospace supply chain. This has included Supplier appraisals and ongoing vendor assessments, managing stakeholder management, working to fluidly implement and manage changes in operation and structure and developing new techniques and methods for the purchasing function.

General office administration and systems operation.This role incorporated operating the MRP system and my administrative skills in managing and analysing documents for the complete manufacturing process from initial enquiries through to quotation, job cards to the shop floor, purchase orders for materials and processes and delivery notes. I also managed the internal non-conformance reports and worked closely with the engineering team to analyse what went wrong and why in each case and subsequently worked with the customers in a similar capacity where necessary. I really enjoyed the challenge of working through the 5Y process and I developed a strong interest in the quality auditing process.
