I graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice from the Eller College of Management. After graduation, I moved back to Texas and obtained a position as a Victim Advocate with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office. As a victim advocate I was responsible for meeting with and taking calls from victims of violent crime. I assist victims by explaining the criminal justice process and linking victims with appropriate victim service organizations such as counseling centers. Also, I attend pre-indictment court hearings with the families of homicide victims and I assist victims in filling out criminal justice related paperwork. My objective is to gain a position in the federal government in the field of victim advocacy.
