Growing up on a farm taught me many important life lessons and skills. I was expected to perform work autonomously from a young age and use common sense to solve dynamic problems. I learned that the only sure way to success is through hard word and dedication.In high school, I attended the prestigious North Carolina School of Science and Math to pursue my passion for mathematics and engineering. Junior and Senior year, I took on the FIRST Robotics challenge with a team of students and even placed in the national top eight during the 2015 competition. The design, communication, and analysis skills that I gained from those experiences are an inseparable part of my skill set today. After beginning my college education in engineering, I decided that to become a successful Engineer I would need experience in the field of manufacturing. I pursued a job at a local machine shop and over two summers I worked with CNC machinery to make the virtual CAD models for parts come to life. I learned the tools of the manufacturing trade and gained insight into many design flaws that go overlooked when Engineers create parts.A passion to learn and improve are the two core traits that make me who I am. I hope to pursue a career in robotics and make a real change in the way that we approach automation. Through hard work and dedication, I know that my aspiration are possible and even achievable.
